Kitchen Remodel
I decided to remodel my kitchen. Replace the flooring, cabinets, countertops, and appliances. Plus remove the dropped ceiling and the wall to my cupboard and replace it with more cabinets and extend the countertops around.
Unfortunately I don't have a 'before' picture, but this gives you an idea of what the cabinets looked like. The white flooring on the edges was the old vinyl, and the ugly brick stuff is the linoleum. It was a lot of work to get off the floor because it was glued down throughout. Tom and I took turns with the scraper, but he ended up doing most of the work.

This is after all of the vinyl and linoleum was removed. The kitchen already feels bigger.

This is after all of the cabinets have been removed and the cupboard wall banged out. Yes, those are wires sticking out of the wall, and yes, the power is off. The refrigerator is now sitting next to the TV.

The porcelain tile is almost finished. A few tiles had to be re-buttered because the concrete floor was not cooperating. But that is enough for today, it is getting late. The marathon kitchen remodel weekend is only half over.

Yeah! I now have cabinets and in-set lights. No more fluorescent! Currently, the old cabinet doors are laying on the cabinets as make-shift countertops. Those cabinets took forever to assemble.

Tom and Jen's Wedding

Tom proposed on December 12, 2005 on top of the Rockefeller building. We are very excited about starting our new lives together. The wedding is planned for October 21, 2006. The ceremony will be at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Arlington, VA. The reception will be at the Fort Myer Officers' Club.
A big thanks to Anne, the Maid of Honor.

My Cat
Here is my cat Clementine. She is a long-haired orange and white tabby. I adopted her in April 2003 from Castle Cats Rescue .
